How Do You Clean An Above Ground Pool

Y.E.S. Contractors Before & After Photo Set

There are a few tools youll need to keep your above ground pool clean. The most important is a filter pump. Connect it to the water line to help to filter out debris like dirt, bugs and leaves. Ideally, youll want to run it for several hours every day.

Its also worth using a flat skimmer net on the surface of the pool to remove floating leaves and debris, recommends Lindbeck. Brush the walls and ladder steps with a soft bristled brush to remove any algae or debris. Empty your skimmer and pump baskets.

Then, on an as-needed basis, use a pool vacuum to remove algae and other debris from the pool. Unless you have an automatic pool cleaner , you need to manually vacuum your pool to clean up remaining debris from the pool floor, says Lindbeck. Be sure youre using equipment made for vinyl liners to ensure that you are not damaging the pool while doing routine maintenance.

Installing A Pool With A Sand Base Foam Cove Liner Floor Pad And Wall Foam

    Step 1

Using fine sand , lay a 3 thick bed of sand across the entire inside of the pool this will form your base.

    Step 2

After installing the 3 sand base, lay the liner floor pad on top. Please note your liner floor pad is pre-cut to fit your pools exact dimensions.

    Step 3

Using spray glue or duct tape attach the pool wall foam to the metal pool wall. Start attaching the foam at the top of the pool wall. This will leave a small portion of the bottom of the pool wall not covered with foam but this area will be hidden with a sand or foam cove.

    Step 4

After installing the pool wall foam, attach the pool cove by removing the adhesive backing and sticking it to the metal pool wall directly on top of the liner floor pad .

    Step 5

This is the completed above ground pool liner installation. The vinyl pool liner should be completely supported by the pool base to avoid any stress or damage to it or the metal pool wall.

In conclusion, there are several ways that one can prepare their pool base prior to installing your above ground pool liner. If these steps are followed correctly they can help prevent issues with your above ground pool liner post installation and in years to come!

    Select A Suitable Above

    Lets face it

It will be ignorance of the highest level if you think you can just start constructing a swimming pool without considering pool design options.

At the absolute least you need something that you can refer from whenever youre building a swimming pool in your home.

Remember this is one of the most significant investments that youd never wish to mess up with at any phase.

    So whats the point here?

Get a suitable pool design option. We have several ways of obtaining them.

Here is a sure way of getting the best above ground pool design:

    Build Stone Dust Base

How To Install An Above Ground Pool

Once you have a clean surface that is mostly level, you can start to bring in stone dust.

Lay down at least 2 inches of the stone around where the pool wall will sit. Be sure to read the specification of your pool make and model, since every manufacturer has slight differences.

Pro Tip: If you wanted to build up your pool, you can increase the thinkness of the stone dust in the lower areas. But don’t go over 8 inches.

The Circle should be at least 1 foot wide, with the exact circomference of the pool being in the center.

Your first round of leveling should be within 1/4 inch . We have this tool we use on the crew at Campbell Pools which allows us to set it down on the base and with the transit, we look at the measurements on the tool. You can do the same with a ruler, but it will be pretty low.

Using a rake, make sure your level everything around the base, ensuring that the area where the wall will sit is the most accurate.

When you are within 1/4 inch all around, bring in the compacter. Do use a garden hose to lightly spray the stone dust to prevent dust and to improve the effects of compacting.

But it doesn’t stop there, that was round one.

Now that everything is compacted, you need to measure again. Go around the pool and this time, bring everything within 1/8 inch . and you measure absolutely every area where the wall will sit. This will ensure your pool will be level and stable.

    Water Volume In Above

The Optimum water level in a pool is determined by the following picture. Pool heights are 52 and 54 and your pool is filled to halfway up the skimmer. This provides equal parts of air and water going into your filtration system. Knowing this we can determine the optimum water volume your pool should hold for best filtration/circulation.

    Above Ground Pool Prices

When estimating your costs, the size will be the most significant factor for new pools. Bigger pools cost more upfront, and installation takes longer. Also, the manufacturer selected and quality of pool will influence your price. Doughboy and Kayak Pools are a couple of the best brands out there, and most expensive as well, but you get what you pay for.

    Excavate And Level The Land

The first step of our above-ground pool installation process is to excavate and level the area. This is one of the most critical steps of the process because an even ground ensures that your water level remains even and your structure stays robust. An above-ground pool nestled on an uneven surface will look wrong and this is something our team wants to avoid at all costs.

Our team usually uses several tools to clear the grass and remove rocks from the site to level the ground. This will allow our team to work with a clean, even surface.

    Install Wall And Liner

With all the ground work completed, the pool wall and liner can now be set. This is when the project will really start to come together.

Above ground pool walls are one long piece of sheet steel, and not individual panels as many people believe. As such several people are required to uncoil the wall and bolt it together.

Once the wall is bolted together and all upright have been fastened, the liner can be installed.

Prior to installing the liner, the sand must be raked and troweled flat, with a cove of sand or Styrofoam installed against the pool wall to soften the angle where the wall meets the floor.

Once the bottom is ready, the liner can then be installed. A vacuum will be used to pull the liner tight to the floor and wall, ensuring the perfect wrinkle free fit, every time.

Inground Vs Above Ground Pool: Cost

For most people who are buying a pool, cost is one of the top considerations. In addition to the cost of installation and construction materials, its also important to remember factors like permits, insurance, and repairs all of which can impact your budget significantly.

Above ground pools can offer substantial upfront savings, making them a popular choice for cost-conscious pool owners especially those who dont want to commit to building a permanent structure or using it frequently. On the other hand, an inground pool may provide you with better value and a superior return on your investment, as well explain in more detail later on. Keep reading to learn more about the cost of an inground versus above ground pool once factors like plumbing, maintenance, and insurance are factored in.

    I Consider Additional Electricity Needs

Part 2 Above Ground Pool Installation

Ideally, a swimming pool can be vast and hence require more electricity needs. You have to factor in all the possible applications that will require electricity.

Elements such as salt chlorine generators and ozonators need electricity. Therefore, you got to look into it and find out whether they can affect the electricity supply.

Check whether they need an upgrade or if they can work just fine.
