Disney World Pool Rules And Faqs

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort Pool Tour – Walt Disney World

Disney World has many beautifully themed resorts and when you stay at one of them youll have access to their amazing pools.

From the sand-bottomed, shipwreck-themed Stormalong Bay at Disneys Beach Club Resort to the Finding Nemo themed, zero-entry Big Blue Pool at Disneys Art of Animation Resort, there is no shortage of great options to choose from when youre ready to cool-off after a day in the parks.

But, what exactly are the pool rules and can you use a pool at a resort other than yours ?

Disney Art Of Animation Resort Review: Overview & Map

Art of Animation Resort Map

First, here is a map of the Art of Animation. The resort is divided into four different sections, each representing a Disney animated classic.

Disney Art of Animation is considered a value resort which means it offers the lowest nightly rates of the Disney resorts and the least in terms of luxuries and amenities.

Animation Hall is the main building that houses the check-in and concierge desks, food court, gift shop, etc.

The three sections closest to Animation Hall offer family suites and are themed around the movies The Lion King, Finding Nemo, and Cars. These family suites start at about $300/night .

The section farthest away from Animation Hall offers standard hotel rooms. It is themed around The Little Mermaid. Standard rooms start at $140/night and sleep four, while family suites start at about $300/night and sleep up to six.

Outside of the front of Animation Hall are the bus stops. One feature that sets the Art of Animation apart from other Value resorts is the bus service.

This resort has both dedicated bus service and a nice covered waiting area for the bus service.

Disney Art Of Animation Resort Review: Family Suite Bedroom

The master bedroom is to the left of the dining room and includes a queen bed, another TV and more storage. I thought there would be plenty of room to move around in there even with two people in the room.

And last, there is a second bathroom off of the master bedroom. It has a shower and the same lovely tile work as the other bathroom.

Overall, I thought the suite was spacious, well thought-out and had great theming. That said, you should probably really like the movie in which you will be immersed since the theme is hard to escape!

I think the suite would be the perfect fit for a family with several kids who want more room than a standard hotel room. You cant do much cooking in the kitchenette, so if you want to make meals in your room you will need to look into a different room type, such as 1 Bedroom Villa at a Deluxe Resort.

The main drawback to these rooms is the price. They are expensive even by Disney standards with rooms starting at $300 per night.

You could get connecting rooms at Pop Century or an All-Star resort and have the same amount of room for about $100 less per night. You would be giving up the living room area but gaining two additional beds. I personally lean towards saving the money and having the extra beds, but LOTS of people want the living room area and other amenities at Art of Animation.

Perfect For Younger Kids

This is a great pool for the whole family. However, this pool is one of the best pools at Disney World for families with younger children. The Big Blue is a huge pool with a beach entry. There is also a splash park right next to the pool with some of the Finding Nemo and Finding Dory friends. They also have a dry playground, right next to the pool. There is just a lot of fun for little ones, all in one area.

It will be impossible for the kids to contain their excitement as they see the different Art of Animation Pools. As you walk out of the Animation Hall, the main building for the resort, the excitement begins to stir.

Pool Information at Disney Art of Animation:

Walt Disney World Resort Pool Fact Sheet Faq

While the theme park attractions may be the reason that people come to Walt Disney World, often the reason they stay at Walt Disney World is the hotel pool. All of the Disney World hotels have at least one, if not several, pools on site, many of which have elaborate themeing, kiddie play zones, or other enticements that can make a day at the resort just as fun as a day at the parks.

Whats the overall pool situation like at the Disney World resorts?

While all Disney hotels have pools, there is a great deal of variation between the resorts in the size, atmosphere, and amenities of the pools at each location. The pools range from basic water-in-the-ground at the All Star Resorts, to a de facto mini water park, with multiple slides, sandy play areas, and a lazy river at the Yacht & Beach Clubs.

Some resorts have elaborate interactive water play zones for children, some have hot tubs, some have deluxe cabana rentals, some have quiet pools for restful relaxation, some have zero entry approaches to the water. Sometimes these features, or the lack thereof, can have a big impact on your vacation enjoyment.

Should the pool situation play a factor in my decision about where to stay during my Disney vacation?

Maybe. Your answer will depend on your interests and needs. Before factoring the pool into your resort choice decision, consider the following questions:

Resort Mug Refillable Station

A great value at the Disney World Resorts is the Resort Mugs. You pay one price for the mugs and you get unlimited refills during your vacation. Most of the refillable stations are in the Food Court. If you are enjoying a day at the pool, this can be frustrating. You have to get dressed, put shoes on, and walk over to the Food Court. Disneys Art of Animation Resort is one of the few resorts that actually has a refillable mug station, right at the pool.

These are a few reasons why we love the pool at Disneys Art of Animation Resort. Before you head out for fun, here are a few extra tips to make your day even more enjoyable.

Tip #1 If you like ping pong, bring some quarters. You do have to buy the ping pong balls to play at the pool.

Tip #2 Bring your MagicBands or Key to the World Card , because you do need these to enter the pool.

Pros: The Animal Kingdom Lodge has a breathtaking lobby boasting a large African art collection. Book a Savanna view room for the chance to watch giraffes, zebras, and other exotic animals right from your hotel window.

Cons: This resort is the farthest from most theme parks and is also one of the priciest.

I spent three nights with my daughter at the Art of Animation Resort in Disney World and though I had high expectations, this place totally blew me away!

Ill start my in-depth Disney Art of Animation resort review an overview of the resort and its amenities, followed by reviews of the family suites and standard rooms.

Heres what you will find in this post so you can skip ahead if needed:

What Are The Best Disney Pools For Toddlers And Young Children

One of the great things about a Walt Disney Resort is that they consider the entire family’s experience. With that said, they are very mindful of the safety and fun factor for toddlers and young guests. Stormalong Bay has a wonderful sand bottom pool that’s shallow and perfect for wading and building sandcastles.

Little ones also enjoy Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. While there are three themed pools to choose from, the Big Blue Pool is an ideal pool destination since it has a zero-depth entry pool, the Schoolyard Sprayground, and Squirt’s Righteous Reef dry play area.

Swimming Pools At Pop Century Disney Value Resort

Eclectic vibes come over you as you walk through the courtyards of the Disney Pop Century and see all of the amazing sights taking you back in time but your kids have their mind on something else, splashing and frolicking in the three pools located around the Pop Century Resort. There are truly no limits to the fun and each of the pools are excitingly unique. A kiddie pool is located behind the family pool and is perfect for the little ones with zero-entry access and bubbling fountains.

Two Pools At A Popular Disney World Hotel Are Closing Next Year For Refurbishments

There are a lot of reasons to love Disney World hotels. They have great theming and , some of the best Disney food can be found at certain hotels, and staying there gets you extra perks like the free Disney transportation to and from the parks.

Another benefit is that most of the Disney World hotels have really fun, themed pools that can help you cool off after a hot day in the parks. But if youre staying at one Disney World value resort, you might see a hiccup in your big Disney pool plans.

Two of the pools at Disneys Art of Animation Resort are closing temporarily in 2022 for some refurbishments.

The Flippin Fins Pool will be closed from early January 2022 through late February 2022. During its closure, the Big Blue Pool and the Cozy Cone Pool will be available for guests to use instead.

Once the Flippin Fins Pool reopens , the Cozy Cone Pool in the Cars section of Art of Animation will close for its own refurbishments. Its expected to be closed through mid-April 2022.

During this time, the Big Blue Pool and Flippin Fins Pool will both be open for guests to use.

So if youre staying at Art of Animation Resort soon, you will still have two pools to choose from, no matter which section you stay in. If the pool in your rooms section is closed, it might just be a longer walk to get to the other ones.

The Pools At Disneys Art Of Animation Resort

Finding Nemo pool play areas at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

The pools at Disneys Art of Animation are a great place to take a break during your Disney vacation. There are three pools available for guests of the resort.

Whether you want to relax in the Flippin Fins pool, take a plunge in The Big Blue Pool, or hang out in a cabana at the Cozy Cone Pool, theres something for everyone.

This article will preview the three pools at Disneys Art of Animation Resort. In addition, well look at the Schoolyard Sprayground, the pool bar, laundry facilities, and the other playgrounds at the resort.

The Big Blue Pool is the feature pool at Disneys Art of Animation Resort. It contains over 308,000 gallons and is inspired by Disneys Finding Nemo film.

The pool sits directly behind the resorts lobby. It is centered between the Finding Nemo suites section of the resort.

The far end of the pool has a zero-entry and several fun splash elements.

In addition, this pool area is home to The Schoolyard Sprayground, which is an interactive water play area for smaller children.

I dont know what you think, but the splash pad looks like a ton of fun for children. And a stay at this resort is more than warranted when the kids are still young.

Space Differences Between Rooms At The Resorts

There is a slight space difference in the rooms at Pop Century vs. Art of Animation. The Art of Animation Little Mermaid standard rooms are slightly bigger by about 17 square feet.

This gives guests a little more breathing room and space to walk around compared to the Pop Century rooms. There is no murphy bed in the Art of Animation standard rooms, but it doesnt feel too cramped.

The great thing about the Pop Century rooms is there are two beds, but one of them is a murphy bed that turns into a table when put up. This allows the room to feel more open and gives you more space to move around. However, when the bed is pulled down it can feel a little more cramped than the Art of Animation rooms.

Overall, the regular rooms at Art of Animation and the rooms at Pop Century are very similar in size.
