The pebble finish is an aggregate mixture of fine cement, plaster and small rounded river pebbles. The pebbles are small, colored pebbles from a river that have been rounded smooth by nature. These pebbles are becoming more expensive as mining companies are more restricted from dredging river beds. The mixture is pumped on to the swimming pool concrete shell coating the whole pool. Some pools have a tile band at the waterline but thats not necessary with an aggregate pebble finish. The tile band, which is a layer of ceramic tiles the same height as the skimmer box, prevents a water line mark appearing around the pool.

Is Quartz A Good Pool Finish

A quartz finish is essentially similar to plaster in that they use a fine powdered quartz stone product mixed with white cement. Plain plaster is usually fine limestone and cement.

Concrete pool resurfacing is one of the most important maintenance requirements for inground concrete swimming pools. This process helps to remove the buildup of mildew and stains from the pool. Unlike acid washing, which utilizes muriatic acid for stain removal, this process is a more laborious and complex one.

Stains can develop in swimming pools as a result of different factors. These include low levels of pH, calcium hardness, dissolved solids, and total alkalinity. High levels of certain metals like iron, magnesium, and copper can also result in staining the swimming pool.
