The running costs of swim spas are also typically much lower than a pools running costs. Between their smaller size, smaller pumps and insulation, swim spas are able to run, filter and heat themselves for less than the running cost of the pool pump. Hot Tub Ideas that fit into your Landscape

A detached pool works the other way. The swimming pool and hot tub are built and function separately but are designed to complement each other. This requires enough space for two installations but it opens up incredible design options.

Landscaping, paving, and deck overlays offer a visually stunning way to connect your pool and spa pairing. The detached style may need more space, but the right design can make your backyard look even more spacious.

What Is The Average Cost Of An Inground Pool In Florida

According to Reef Tropical, the pool cost in Florida averages between $35,000 and $60,000 for a basic inground concrete pool without any add-ons. With custom features, you could be looking at $80,000 to $200,000 or more. Also, going for a larger-than-average pool with a connected spa can start your pool prices at around $95,000. For a more elaborate pool with a tile surface and an attached spa, the cost for an inground pool would start at about $220,000.

How Can I Add A Spa To A Vinyl

Youll see this option referred to as a spill-over spa. Its placed directly adjacent to your pool, allowing for the spa and pool water to mingle together.

This option involves adding a preformed fiberglass shell that connects to your pool.

A spill-over spa will tie into your pools plumbing system and share its pump, filter, and heater. The spa and pool will share the same water, too, so theres no separate testing or pH level balancing needed.

The same kind of construction you experienced with your pool installation will happen again for the spa addition.

An excavator will show up to dig up part of your patio or pool decking to create a hole for the shell. Crews will install plumbing, electrical and masonry.

The cost, including the spa shell and the installation, will be about $15,000.

What Are Inground Pools

Inground swimming pools are permanent fixtures built directly into the ground. There are a variety of materials used to construct inground pools. But most are built with concrete or gunite.

Inground pools are a popular option because once well-maintained, they can last for up to 40 years. They also give you the flexibility to customize your outdoor space with interesting features.

What Is A Dual Zone Swim Spa

Hot Tub Lap Pool Combo

Most swim spa models are a single unit with a large swim area. The therapy seats are in the back of the spa while the endless water current is in the front. You can swim or exercise while someone relaxes.

However, the water temperature will be the same whether you are enjoying the massage jets or water running.

A dual zone swim spa, though, has two separate bodies of water. Each zone can be a different temperature. The swim spa side can be set in the 80s even in the 70s while the hot tub side can be set in the 90s or up to 104 degrees.

The two sides of the swim spa are separated by a divider. The MP Momentum Deep has a clear acrylic divider while the H2X 19-foot swim spas have the divider built in.

Can Just The Spa Be Used In The Winter

The answer is yes you could leave just the spa portion open in the winter and winterize the pool but their are some considerations to make.

  • You will need to buy a custom winter safety cover for just the pool and also a custom hot tub cover for the spa
  • Winters are cold. Any malfunction in the pool equipment or power outage during the winter months could be cause for disaster if the water lines, or pool equipment freeze with water in them. Extreme care and regular check-ups must be done if you plan to run your spa through the winter.
  • Operational costs will be higher through the winter because the water will need to be continually heated to prevent water freezing and damaging the plumbing system.
  • You should also consider the fact that their likely wont be a spur of the moment decision to go for a hot-tub or spa with hot tub pool combos. It is impractical to maintain a water temperature around 100 F in this type of system. You would likely maintain a lower temperature of around 60 F through the winter and when you want to use the spa you would increase the water temperature to your desired temperature. It will take some time to get the spa up to temperature. It could take anywhere from 10-60 minutes to reach your desired temperature.

One of the best things about owning a swim spa is that you can use it for a variety of purposes. You can swim in it, use the jets for massage therapy, and even hot tub in it. If you have limited space in your backyard, you may be wondering if you can combine a swimming spa with a hot tub.

The answer is yes! You can easily combine the fun of a swim spa with the relaxation of a hot tub by choosing a swim spa hot tub combo.

When looking for a swim spa hot tub combo, there are a few things to keep in mind. First, make sure that the swim spa and hot tub are compatible in terms of size. Second, make sure that they both have similar features so that you can use them interchangeably. Finally, make sure that the price is right for your budget.

    Before Making A Commitment

While a spool, or swim spa, sounds like the best of both worlds, its not for everyone. Take one for a test drive at a friend or family members house, or try one out at a local spa dealer before buying one. Make sure the current is acceptableânot like the unpleasant blast of a pressure washer or fire hose.

In doing your research, you may find out that you cant live without a full-sized swimming pool in which to swim laps or entertain a large crowd. Alternatively, you may find that all you want is a hot tub that will allow you to receive a nice hot soak and massaging jets targeted on your sore muscles a few times a week. Like anything, it takes time and consideration before taking the plunge and becoming a proud spool pool owner.

How Much Water Do You Need To Fill A Pool With A Hot Tub

The amount of water you need to fill a pool with a hot tub depends on the size of the model. For 1 ft³ you need 7.48 gallons of water. To find the exact volume of water for your specific pool with a hot tub, you need to measure the width, height and depth of the interior of the tub.

For example, a pool measuring 4x6x6 equals 144 ft³. 144 x 7.48 gallons means youll need exactly 1,077.19 gallons to fill the pool.

If you have an irregularly shaped pool, such as an L-shaped pool, you would split the L-shape into two separate boxes and measure the dimensions of each to find the volume, then add the volumes together.

How Much Do Inground Spas Cost

It depends on how elaborate your design is, but in most cases, an inground spa will be more than an aboveground spa, which cost in the $5,000-10,000 range. Inground spas are cheaper when you use a pre-fab drop-in spa shell, of fiberglass or acrylic, and a spa pack. Concrete spas set in the ground require more work to build, from various tradesmen, which can push the cost to $20,000, or more. So then, we can âsafelyâ say that inground spas are about twice as expensive as aboveground spas, especially if you add-on water features and expensive and extensive decking around the spa.

Whether its a propulsion system or jets, a current of water is created so that you can swim . and swim . and swim without ever hitting a wall. While an in-ground pool also provides a space to swim, the swim spa is designed for recreational and competitive swimmers to train at home.

What sets a dual zone swim spa apart from other models? A dual zone swim spa has two areas of water, often separated by an acrylic divider. One area is used for recreation and exercise, the other features hydrotherapy jets. Each has its own temperature controls for comfort and functionality.

Compared to other models, dual-temp units are typically larger than traditional swim spas. The MP Momentum Deep is 19 feet long and 8 feet wide, compared to the 18-foot MP Signature Deep and the 17-foot MP Force Deep swim spa.
