MGM Grand is a sprawling resort with an abundance of dining, gaming, and entertainment options. With just over 5,000 hotel rooms and 170,000 square feet of gaming, MGM Grand is the biggest hotel in Vegas.
Originally opening in 1993, MGM Grand initially sported a Wizard of Oz theme which has been discarded over the years. Even sans theming elements, there are plenty of things to do at MGM Grand and nearby in Las Vegas.
Wet Republic Ultra Pool
The Wet Republic Ultra Pool is an adults-only 54,500-square-foot day club venue known for its pool parties with world-renowned DJs and party cabanas. It is located adjacent to the main pool complex.
This sexy hot spot features two saltwater pools, additional dipping pools, daybeds, oversized chaises, and a popular covered pool lounge with a white marble full bar and amateur go-go booths.

Drink Prices At The Mgm Grand Pool
There are several bars dotted around the Pool Deck. If you are sitting on Free sun loungers then Cocktail waitresses will circle the area and take food or drink orders but on the whole, they are quite infrequent and very busy so your order may be slow. On the whole, its often quicker to jump up and grab a drink yourself. Naturally, if you have a dedicated host let them do the work!
Bars are located at the Cabana Grill, The Reserve Pool, Live Lucky Pool, and the Lazy River.
Prices and menus are uniforms across all bars. Dont expect cheap drinks at Las Vegas Pools! Prices are as eye-watering as you would expect for a captive audience and they can even Surge charge when its really busy!
Beers come in at $10 each or a bucket of 6 is $50 . These come sealed and served in a bucket of Ice to keep cool through the day. Remember if you dont get through all 6 they are sealed bottles so take them with you. You would be amazed how many people leave full unopened bottles after a day by the pool!
If you are more of a wine drinker, do not expect much. Wine is served in cans and will come in three varietiesRed, White, and Sparkling, there is no Wine Cellar here! Cans are $14 and a bucket of 5 is $55 so pretty horrific for cheap supermarket wine! You can also get the newly trendy Hard Selzers also by the can at $10 or a bucket of 6 for $50.
There Are Resort Fees But You Can Avoid Them
Resort fees are a major headache for those who frequently travel, and they are especially rampant in Las Vegas. Just about every property in Sin City seems to have a pesky resort fee attached to its room rates, and oftentimes you don’t know it until after you’ve booked a room and go to pay the bill.
Nightly resort fees at the MGM Grand are $39 plus tax , which can really add up over the course of your stay.
Luckily, you may not have to pay them. That’s because you can get them waived if you have elite status in the MGM Rewards loyalty program.

Theres so much to do at the MGM Grand Pool Complex. Hotel guests can enjoy a winding lazy river, four gorgeous pools, three whirlpools, and several waterfalls. Oh, and of course, there are five bars where you can order a cool drink and fresh food to keep your energy up as you explore all there is to offer.
For a more exclusive adult experience, head over to the Wet Republic Ultra Pool. You can mingle at the open-air lounge, relax in a bungalow, or dip into a more intimate pool setting.

Room Options Are Plentiful
While most hotels have a few room types â standard, preferred view, junior suite and deluxe suite â the MGM Grand has a bunch of room types spread throughout several towers.
In the previously mentioned West Wing, which is the oldest part of the hotel, you’ll find many of the property’s standard accommodations. They often go for below $100 per night throughout the year, making them a great bargain for budget-conscious travelers.
Grand rooms feature much larger windows, seating areas and desks. The views also tend to be better â especially if you get a room on a higher floor or one that overlooks the Strip.
Beyond the historic tower lies the three-tower Signature area, an all-suite offering that provides extra amenities like in-suite kitchenettes and a private pool available exclusively to Signature guests. The pools are decked out with marble pillars, fountains, and other Roman architecture-inspired features. Whats more, the pool area features 4 swim-up Blackjack tables. Visitors of all ages come to the Garden of the Gods Pool Oasis. However, their Venus pool is adults-only. There, you can enjoy their bar and lots of creative drinks. You can even get a refreshing cocktail inside of a pineapple!

It Was Originally A ‘wizard Of Oz’
When the MGM Grand opened its doors in the early ’90s, it featured a “Wizard of Oz” theme that included all kinds of memorabilia, plus the movie’s signature emerald green color. Guests entered by walking through a giant lion’s mouth, and life-size statues of the characters immediately greeted visitors inside.
Many of these features have gone away with updates and remodels over the years. However, you can still see the iconic emerald green color beaming from the property every night.

Set Back From The Strip Behind The Larger Mgm Grand Complex It’s Near The Action Without Being In The Middle Of It
The three Signature towers are behind the larger MGM Grand complex. An enclosed walkway with moving sidewalks takes guests from the towers to the casino, restaurants, shops and sites at the main hotel — about a five minute trip. Once you reach the MGM Grand, though, you still face a long walk past the shops, casino and lion habitat to get to the lobby and out the front door.
The MGM Grand is located at about the midpoint of the southern half of the 3½-mile-long stretch of hotel-casinos known as the Las Vegas Strip, across from New York, New York and just north of the Tropicana.
Most Las Vegas visitors want to explore all of the big properties along the Strip. Cabs are easy to find at virtually any time of day or night. A generally less expensive option is the Deuce, a double-decker bus that runs up and down the strip 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and costs $3. There’s also a monorail system, which stops at MGM Grand, Bally’s/Paris, Flamingo/Caesars Palace, Harrah’s/Imperial Palace, the Las Vegas Convention Center, the Hilton, and the Sahara. Does Mgm Grand Provide Pool Towels
There are pool towels available to all hotel guests at the MGM Grand Pool Complex. There is no need to bring towels from your room. The pool towels can be found in multiple towel shacks and on some of the lounge chairs as well.
Guests are encouraged to return their towels to one of the towel collection huts when they are done enjoying the pool area rather than bringing them back to their hotel rooms.

Electric Vehicle Charging Is Free
If you’re driving an electric vehicle, you’ll be happy to know that you can recharge it for free in the self-parking structure at the MGM Grand.
