Our Experience On The Hot Tub Boat Tour In New York City
You know I LOVE boat tours in NYC, seeing the Manhattan skyline from the Hudson or East River is pure magic and it never gets old, even though Ive been living here for over 10 years, I will always say yes to this kind of experience.
Ive talked about a bunch of them on the blog and on but the one Im sharing today is different from all the other ones and I might say it might be my favorite, at least in the summer!
I was invited by Sea The City to experience their Hot Tub Boat Tour, a 90 minute boat ride along the Hudson River that will take your breath away, stopping in front of iconic places in NYC!
What you need to know:
- The boat has two hot tubs, each tub can accommodate up to 10 people. You can either book both tubs if you have a larger group or one for up to 10 guests.
- They dont mix groups, so only you and your party will be sharing the same hot tub.
- The tour lasts 90 minutes. We booked the 8pm slot and it was PERFECT, we saw the sunset and the city coming to life at night with all the lights. It was beautiful
- How much does the hot tub boat tour cost? Prices vary according to the day of the week, hour and number of people. We were a group of 10 and if we were to split equally, each person would have to pay about $130 .

Recently, with a very special friend visiting NYC for the first time, it felt like the perfect opportunity to join the highly-Instagrammable boat ride for a mid-July cruise. Like me at first, you’re probably wondering, who in their right mind would want to sit in a hot tub in New York muggy July heat. Well, fear not, the temperature of the water is dropped in the summer to 101 degrees Fahrenheit , and once you’re cruising on the river the outside temperature is lower and everything feels just right. It carries two, eight-person commercial grade hot tubs, and is bookable by the tub or by the boat .
The boat has amenities including a large bathroom and separate changing room. Coolers are provided for your beer and wine. In addition to the captain, a deckhand is on board to assist guests. Our 40 Coast Guard certified vessel is operated by a USCG licensed Master Captain.
Departing just 10 min from Manhattan, tours are 90 minutes in length.
Traveling down the Hudson River, guests will see breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline as they head towards Liberty Island. The boat circles the Statue of Liberty before making its way back up the Hudson to home.

Sea the City is located at Liberty Landing Marina in Jersey City, New Jersey. Were just across the Hudson River from Manhattans bustling financial district!
The easiest way to get to us is via the Liberty Landing Ferry. The ferry leaves Manhattan every hour on weekdays and arrives at our Marina in under 15 minutes. The ferry costs $7 per person each way and is a reliable and enjoyable way to reach us.

How To Get There
Sea and the City is located at Liberty Landing Marina in Jersey City, and the most convenient way to get there is by taking the Liberty Landing Ferry which leaves from the World Financial Center Terminal Downtown, next to Brookfield Place. The ticket costs $7 and you pay when boarded the Ferry you do not need to buy a ticket in advance. Check the website and see all the schedules so you can plan accordingly! Once you exit the ferry, turn right, with Manhattan behind you, until you reach the Maritime Center Building. Sea and the Citys office is behind the building.
Note! Depending on the time of your tour, you may miss the last boat departing from the NJ Marina to get back to NYC. Dont worry! You can request an Uber or Lyft and go to Grove Street Station in Jersey City and get the Path train, it is a short ride to Manhattan. You can also do that when you are going to the Marina, I just think the ferry is very convenient.
