Can I Receive Packages During My Stay
Yes, you are able to receive three packages 0lbs-15lbs for no charge, and after the third package there is a fee per package:
- 0 to 15lbs = $5.00 per package
- 16 to 30lbs = $10.00 per package
- 31 to 50lbs = $12.00 per package
- 51 to 75lbs = $25.00 per package
- 76 to 100lbs = $30.00 per package
Please make sure that the name of the package matches the name of your reservation.
Downtown Grand Gaming Floor
The casino at Downtown Grand has been the driving force for me to want to book a room. It is one of my favorites in Las Vegas. DTGs gaming floor has a modern vibe, 375 slot games to choose from, as well as some of the most advantageous video poker pay tables youll find in Vegas.
My game of choice though is Craps and DTGs crew is always helpful, friendly, and fun. Table games feature low limits, usually $5 minimums which fit my low rolling budget. Cocktail servers are plentiful and rarely did I have an empty drink while gaming.
William Hill operates DTGs sportsbook which is rarely crowded.
The casino itself is usually sparsely populated and a seat at a table game or machine is not difficult to find.
Off The Strippools Open During The Winter
Red Rock: The Sandbar Pool complex at Red Rock is open and heated to a balmy 78 degrees all winter long.
Green Valley Ranch: The pool complex at the luxurious Henderson resort is open and heated during the winter. Winter pool hours run from 10 am 4 pm, weather permitting.
South Point: Although the pool is open year round, they typically stop heating it in October. Itll be uncomfortable, but if you dont mind a frigid dip, the pool at South Point is an option.
Trump International: Heated to 82 degrees, the pool at Trump stays open during the winter.

Downtown Grand Las Vegas Premium Room Review

Downtown Grand, formerly Lady Luck, is located just a couple of blocks away from the Fremont Street Experience and delivers a unique, boutique experience. In 2006, Lady Luck closed its doors for renovations that never materialized and the building sat vacant until 2013 when Downtown Grand as it exists today opened after an overhaul of its 600+ hotel rooms. Recently, construction started on a new hotel tower that will increase the resorts room count to over 1,000 guest rooms.
We have enjoyed the Grands dining options as well as the uncrowded, affordable casino in the past, and staying at the propertys hotel has been on our Vegas to-do list.
We booked a Premium King room which is a step up from Downtown Grands baseline Deluxe option. That modest upgrade provided us an additional 100 square feet and for a mid-week rate of around $40 plus $29.36 in resort fees seemed like a pretty decent value. Was it though? Lets dive into the details!

Downtown Grand Is A Hotel With Rooms
Guest rooms at the Downtown Grand offer everything you need when staying in Vegas, wrapped in refreshingly modern decor.
The Downtown Grand offers three levels of guest rooms, each offering all the amenities you would expect from a Las Vegas hotel and then a few unique extras. Their Deluxe guest rooms are the smallest, at just 350 square feet, but have ample space for relaxation when not out exploring downtown Las Vegas and the Strip.
Superior rooms offer a more upscale, modern decor with cool blue accents to create a tranquil retreat from the hustle and bustle. Artwork and floor-to-ceiling windows elevate the Vegas experience. Deluxe and Superior rooms are available with one king or two queen beds.
Upgrade to a Premium King or Premium Queen with bold decor featuring rich colors and corner views of the city. These expanded rooms offer more space for seating and a desk for work and leisure. The Studio King provides even more room, available with up to 375 square feet.
Virtual Superior rooms offer additional space and feature an interactive augmented reality experience. Using an iPad, guests can experience an exciting and mind-bending, artistic adventure right on the walls of their room.
All guest rooms include the SNOOZ White Noise Machine and comfortable pillowtop mattresses for restful sleep. USB power outlets are available bedside and by the desk for convenience. All bathrooms have half-glass showers or a tub/shower combo with vanity and lighted mirrors.
What New Health And Safety Protocols Are Being Implemented In Your Restaurants
The Downtown Grand meets or exceeds guidelines from the FDA Food Code, SNHD Food Regulations, and Nevada Revised Statutes. We follow sanitation guidelines and utilize training aides backed by SNHD and the National Restaurant Association. To address the current situation, menus have been slightly altered to ensure efficiency and minimize risk. In addition, outlet hours are adjusted to provide downtime for extensive sanitizing and increased staff training.

I do apologize about the music, we keep calling asking for it to be turned down. I’m not sure what $150 you are talking about, if it is the incidental hold, that gets returned to you at check out, the rest is the resort fee and taxes that’s due at check in time.
The Verdict: Is Downtown Grands Premium Room Worth Booking
I found the premium king room at Downtown Grand to have a modern, renovated feel at a rock-solid price point compared to similar rooms on the Strip. The extra 100 square feet delivered via an inexpensive upgrade made a massive difference. While some crave that grimier or older feel downtown properties can provide, Downtown Grand is not that. Instead, it succeeds at delivering an updated, hip party vibe.
Location was one of my favorite qualities of the property. DTG is just two blocks from Fremont Street which is quickly walkable but makes a massive difference as it relates to noise. Live entertainment is certainly still audible, but the distance helps take the edge off.
If you are happy with mid-tier rooms on the Strip and want to give staying downtown a shot, then Downtown Grand is a fantastic option.

Dining options are numerous and span the spectrum of wants with something for everyone. At the cheaper end, Pizza Rock delivers a high-quality slice for next to nothing.
Freedom Beat, located on the casino floor is open 24 hours and serves up American-style food at a $10-$20 average price point. Stop in to check out live music acts on Fri/Sat/Sun See Freedom Beats event calendar here.
Triple George resides on the higher end of the price/quality spectrum but is a fantastic value compared to steakhouses on the Strip. You can expect to pay $20 for pasta entrees and anywhere from $30-$80 for meatier items depending on what you are feeling. Check out Triple Georges menu here.
Furnace Bar is smack dab in the middle of the casino floor as well and offers bar-top video poker with progressives. I couldnt tell you how much beer is because they kept the comped beverages flowing as VP drained my wallet. Excellent service.

Downtown Las Vegaspools Open Year Round
Plaza: Plazas unique rooftop pool is open year round and offers a great view of D*Faces Behind Closed Doors mural. Both a heated pool and hot tub will be available to guests.
Circa: Boasting 6 swimming pools, 2 swim-up bars, and poolside gaming, Circas Stadium Swim easily qualifies as the best pool on Fremont Street. Adding to the allure is the 143-foot screen thats always tuned to the big game.

Downtown Grand: DTGs Citrus Grand Pool Deck stays open during the winter, although there are no food and beverage offerings. The rooftop pool receives plenty of sun and offers a great view of downtown Las Vegas.
Central Downtown Location Near Fremont Street And The Mob Museum
Downtown Grand is located in the bustling heart of Downtown Las Vegas. The Mob Museum is visible from the hotel and is a quick, one-minute walk away. Fremont Street — with its zip lines, casinos, musicians, and bars — is only a three-minute stroll from the hotel. Multiple restaurants, bars, a pharmacy, and a mini-mart take four minutes or less to reach on foot. The Neon Museum, which is full of vintage Las Vegas signs, is a five-minute drive from the hotel. The Las Vegas Strip is ostensibly an 10-minute drive from the Downtown Grand, though traffic can be bad in Vegas. For an iconic snapshot, the “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign is 15 minutes away by car. Budget around the same amount of time to reach McCarran International Airport in a taxi.

The Downtown Grand two-bedroom penthouse offers a comfortable, luxurious stay for guests with spacious living areas for entertaining.
Penthouse suites are located on the 8th floor of the Downtown Grand and feature two private bedrooms, each with an attached bathroom, plus a spacious living area. Select penthouse suites also come with balconies from which guests can enjoy the fresh air and stunning views. With a contemporary decor of cool colors, the focus turns to the bright lights of downtown Las Vegas beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows.
Each of the two private bedrooms includes a king-sized pillowtop mattress with luxurious linens and foam pillows. The dark, warm decor and tinted windows create a tranquil escape to relax and recharge for another day or night in Vegas. The main bedroom has a private bath with a separate walk-in shower and soaking tub, while the second bedroom shares a bathroom with the living area. Both bathrooms include an all-marble design, double sinks, and lighted mirrors.
The two-bedroom penthouse suite sleeps up to four adults, but there is plenty of room for entertaining guests or just spreading out to relax in comfort. Modern Rooms With Colorful Interiors Flat
Downtown Grands rooms are modern and colorful, though in some cases the patterns and hues can be a bit much. Deluxe Rooms are done up in a more subtle green shade accented by blond wood furniture, but the other categories on offer are generally gaudier. These units are dressed in an abundance of bright red alongside vibrantly patterned carpets and sleek laminate furniture. Artsy photos of colored smoke only add to the visual assault. Beds are either one king or two queens. All rooms feature flat-screen TVs with DirecTV channels, air-conditioning, included Wi-Fi, built-in desks, USB-integrated power outlets, safes, bottled water, and irons and ironing boards. Overall, rooms here are more stylish than similarly priced properties. However, you’ll hear lots of noise. The hotels proximity to Fremont Street and the parties hosted downstairs mean that nights aren’t exactly peaceful here. The included ear plugs help, but it still doesnt solve the problem . Bathrooms are attractive and come with lots of marble counter space, illuminated beauty mirrors, hairdryers, and showers. The upmarket C.O. Bigelow bath products are a nice plus, too. Upgraded rooms are bigger and come with features including whirlpool bathtubs, toiletries like mouthwash and lotion, and Keurig coffeemakers. Downtown Grand is also a great spot for groups as there are bunk-bed rooms that fit up to 10 people.
