Is Estes Park Colorado Dog Friendly

Estes Park is a welcoming place for dogs and their owners. People in Colorado love dogs in fact, youll see dogs everywhere during your visit to the Centennial State. Many of the hotels listed above allow pets, although you may need to pay an additional pet fee when you check-in.

Most of the areas trails are open to pets, and your dog will enjoy running around in the great outdoors in this nature-focused vacation destination. However, dogs are not allowed on trails in Rocky Mountain National Park, so keep that in mind. No matter where you and your pup decide to explore, please keep him or her on a leash unless you know for sure that an area is leash-free, and be sure to pick up after your dog, too.

Box Canyon Lodge & Hot Springs

I stayed at this rustic lodge a few years ago and absolutely loved the redwood outdoor hot tubs.

While technically theyre not private to your room, during my three-night stay I had them all to myself every single time, especially at night under the stars.

Now, these arent just any hot tubs but are filled with local hot spring water thats great for circulation, pain relief, stress reduction and more.

In the tubs, youll be surrounded by lush nature through colorful gardens and views extending up the hillside up toward the mountain tops in the distance.

The lodge is located in the small mining town of Ouray one of my favorite cities in Colorado.

Make sure to wander down Main Street to check out the local shops, many of which sell handmade goods.

Stop for a delicious scrap cookie made with the previous days cookie scraps at Mouses Chocolates & Coffee, and have a steak and local beer at The Outlaw, where you can also wear John Waynes cowboy hat.

Finally, dont miss a 4×4 tour down the Million Dollar Highway, a gorgeous 25-mile stretch along Route 550.
