History Of Liberty Park
Liberty Park is Salt Lake Citys oldest and second-largest city park. Originally, Liberty Park was a grist mill and farm. The Isaac Chase Mill is the oldest commercial building still standing in Utah. During the famine of 1857, the Chase Mill and Farm gained notoriety or the free grist they provided pioneers during hard times.
Brigham Young later acquired the 110-acre farm in 1860, planting various trees- mulberry, cottonwoods, and others. He left the land in his will to be sold to the City at the lowest cost so that it could be enjoyed publicly. Two decades later, the Salt Lake City Corporation purchased the land for recreation and relaxation for its community. The park, and many of its features, was well established by the early 1920s. Shade trees, flowers, lakes, playgrounds, tennis courts, and even a zoo were present . Liberty Park even has the largest and oldest of two free-standing aviaries in the United States, the Tracy Aviary. Nearly 140 years later, Liberty Park remains a favorite spot for many residents in Salt Lake City with its diverse uses and natural space tranquility.
Liberty Outdoor Pool Opens Saturday

Outdoor pools in Liberty will be open Saturday, May 29.

LIBERTY Summer is coming, and the spraygrounds and the outdoor pool at the Liberty Community Center are scheduled to open Saturday, May 29. They will be open through Sept. 6.
LCC outdoor pool hours are noon to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sundays, Memorial Day and the Fourth of July.
Ruth Moore sprayground is open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. The sprayground is free and open to the public.
City Park will feature a new sprayground and is still under construction. Parks Director BJ Staab said the tentative opening could be early July.
Kimberly Pool Plans To Open Saturday June 5 In West Liberty
The Kimberly Park pool will open to the public Saturday, June 5, for the first time in two years following the COVID-19 pandemic, it was announced this week by West Liberty City Parks and Recreation Director Nick Heath.
To be open every day from 1-7 p.m. through Aug. 15, the Kimberly Park pool, including diving boards and water slide, has undergone some repairs this Spring after sitting idle for nearly two years and is ready for youths and adults.
Lap swimming will be available Monday through Thursday from 7-7:45 a.m. and there is a special $1 swim night on Wednesdays from 5-7 p.m. as well as water aerobics beginning June 8 at 8:45 a.m. Monday through Friday and from 7-7:45p.m. in July and August.
Season passes are available including family passes for both residents and non-residents as well as punch cards for swimming and water aerobics. Children under four can swim for free.
Pool parties will also be available, but time slots vary according to Heath.
The park department will also offer Red Cross certified swim lessons this year at four levels for groups from beginners to swimmers.

Spa Policies & Procedures
- Spa users must be 18 years or older.
- Women that are pregnant may not use the spas.
- Elderly participants, and/or participants with respiratory or cardiopulmonary problems should not use the spas without prior medical approval from their doctor.
- Any person with or suspected of having a communicable disease that could be transmitted through the use of the spa shall not be permitted to use the spas.
- Any person with any area of exposed sub-epidermal tissue, open blisters, or cuts must cover completely and shall not be permitted to use the spas.
- Showering is required before entering the spas.
- A time limit of 15 minutes must be observed due to the fatiguing effects of prolonged use of the spa.
- Avoid food or beverages before using the spa.
- The capacity is 8 participants per spa.
- After using the spa, participants must shower prior to entering the pool.
- Aquatic equipment is prohibited in the spas.

Swim On Embarkation Day
Most guests do not bring their swim suits with their carry-on luggage, and that means the first half of embarkation day results in an empty pool area.
Either wear your swim suit to the ship, or pack it in your carry-on luggage and then change in a public restroom onboard. This is particularly good for kids who want to jump in as soon as possible.

Liberty Pool Opening In Mansfield Today
Mayor Theaker and Parks and Recreation ManagerMark Abramsare pleased to announce that The City of Mansfield Parks and Recreation Department will be opening Liberty Poolon Monday,June 1st, 2020 at 12PM NOON. Liberty Pool will be open 12PM-6PM 7 days a week with the same prices as last year. Adults will be $2, ages 4-14 will be $1 and 3 under are free. Due to COVID-19 there will be other guideline to follow that are different from any other year. Liberty Pool willbe able to accommodate up to 28 groups of people at a time. There will be 28 separate sections around the pool that can accommodate up to 10 people each section. Inside the swimming pool will be marked off for social distancing as well and all lifeguards on duty are to adhere to all social distancing guidelines and rules. Historic Liberty Bell Pool
Historic Liberty Bell Pool is located at the FD Roosevelt State Park on Highway 354 in Pine Mountain, Georgia and is about 40 minutes from Columbus Airport. The FD Roosevelt State Park is the largest in Georgia and was visited here by the former president after whom it is named. The park offers many different trails and facilities including the pool and is open daily from 7am to 10pm.
The stone pool was constructed during the Great Depression by the Civilian Conservation Corps and is fed by the hot springs in the park. One of the reasons why President Roosevelt enjoyed the park was for the healing qualities gained from relaxing in the springs. The pool is open to the public Wednesday to Saturday from 11am to 6pm and Sundays from 1pm to 6pm between May and July. It is open at weekends only in August and again on Labor Day during the same hours.
The park features over 40 miles of trails that head over creeks and past waterfalls as well as trough hardwood and pine. There are a couple of lakes here on which visitors can go boating, canoeing or try a spot of fishing. Camping is permitted here with 140 tent, RV and trailer sites and there are also 22 cottages available for rent.

Historic Liberty Bell Pool To Open This Summer
PINE MOUNTAIN, GA – Last year the historic Liberty Bell pool in Pine Mountain was empty. This year it will be full of swimmers, just as President Roosevelt envisioned it.
The pool, named for its bell shape, is made of local stones and built by men in the Civilian Conservation Corps, part of President Roosevelt’s New Deal.
“Construction started in 1838 and the first swim was August 1941. So, there is a lot of rich history. We just want to be able to offer that to everyone in the community,” said Desmond Timmons, FDR State Park Manager.
The pool sat empty last summer because of money constraints, but now the Harris County Recreation Department has taken over the operations. Despite a few setbacks, they are ready to open. Park Rangers are hopeful thousands will visit the FDR state park and Pine Mountain this summer now that the pool is open again. “Last year without the pool being open we lost 40,000 visitors to the area,” said Timmons.
Fifteen people were hired at the pool for the summer. “It helps the state, helps the city of Pine Mountain and Harris County,” said John Magazu, Harris County Recreation Director.
The pool received several updates, including a new pump. The state built a handicap accessible ramp. In the past, those in wheelchairs had to be carefully rolled down a grassy hill or stay in the observation area. Now, they will be able to access the pool safely. Rangers tell News Leader Nine they plan to purchase an ADA lift soon.

After a pandemic-induced break, North Libertys outdoor pool is opening for the season on June 12, 2021. Well be making it easier for you to check the pools status before you arrive through Rainout Line to find out if its operating normally or if weather, mechanical issue or, um, has required a closure.
During normal operations: means the pool is open, but we are monitoring attendance. means the pool is open, but lines for pool entry are likely with limited pool attendance remaining. means the pool is open, but lines for pool entry are likely with extremely limited or no pool attendance remaining.
Some other changes to watch for:
- The pool opens for passholders at noon.
- Drop-in use begins at 1 p.m. if space remains.
- The outdoor pool will operate separately from the indoor facility this season, and access for all all outdoor pool users will be through the outside gate.
What To Wear
Youll need to have a swimsuit to enter the pool area. We may choose to check mens shorts for a lining if we cant tell if they are wearing a bathing suit. Feel the need to cover up from the sun? Throw on a plain white shirt or white hat and youre set. We dont allow shirts with colors on them on the deck. And remember to wear sunscreen!
