When Is Las Vegas Pool Season
If swimming in the pool is top on your list of must-dos in Las Vegas, its best to plan where and how youll do that. The best option is to come in the summer months. If you want to come in the winter, your pool options are more limited.
Although Las Vegas has many year-round heated pools, official pool season is generally considered to be between March and October.
Heres a great link to that will give you more information about Las Vegas pools and tell you when pools open in Vegas for the season.
For the rest of the hotels both on the strip and off, youll need to either do some research online or just call the hotel and ask. Most hotels wont allow you in the pool unless youre a guest of the hotel or a guest of someone staying there, so keep that in mind as well. You cant just jump over to the hotels pool beside you, although some hotels will let you use their pool if you purchase a day pass.
Some hotels will close the pool for yearly maintenance during the winter. Make sure when you pick your dates, to verify youll have pool access during your stay. Some places, such as the Mirage, will close one or more pools for an entire month during the winter to clean and maintain the facilities.
Wynn / Encore Wynn Pool $$$$ South Strip
With its ubiquitous gold-accented interior decor, the Wynn/ Encore resort has always been one of the most luxurious properties on the Vegas Strip. In recent years, theyve traded in their elitist vibe without sacrificing any of the luxury for a more high-energy fashionista cool to target those aspirational Millennials of the aughts and teens who now have money to burn in 2020. While the big draw for the hipper, somewhat younger set remains this resorts party venues some of the best in the world for nearly a decade running their non-party pools are equally world-class, exuding quiet glamour and peaceful serenity. Are Masks Required At Pools
We will be in Las Vegas soon and we know masks are required indoors, are they also required at the pools?
7 replies to this topic
Look at the webpage for the property you are visiting. We are going to MGM next week and they state they are limited capacity and no mask required for fully vaccinated guests when sitting in your lounge chair
Hey Mike, what an an asinine response. Your comment does not meet TA policy. Stay home and away from TA.
The official line is: “Pursuant to CDC guidance, fully vaccinated guests are not required to wear masks while seated in their lounge chairs at the pool.”
In reality, I was in Vegas last week and no one wore masks at the pool.
drewbie- thanks for that info. I have no problem wearing a mask while walking to get food or use the restroom, but in the pool would be absolutely ridiculous.
You never had to wear them IN the pool. Last year you had to wear them when you were in your lounger, except when eating or drinking.
Right now the mandate is only for indoors, not by the pool .
Mandalay Bay Mandalay Beach $$ North Strip
The giant Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino is every bit as luxurious as the other resorts on this list, but its one of the oldest resorts on the Strip and thus no longer exudes that exclusive feel as do many of the others. Its not for lack of effort though: the 11-acre playground has three large pools, a lazy river, 2,700 tons of white sand, a 1.6 million gallon wave pool, and even an elevated stage built atop the wave pool where live performances regale fans wading in thigh-deep water. The resort itself offers a plethora of family-friendly atmosphere and amenities, e.g. shark reef aquarium, interactive shows, kid-friendly eateries. As a result, a family-friendly booze-friendly backyard pool party with quite a few tipsy aunts and uncles stumbling around is the vibe youll get here, particularly in the summers when school is out. Add in the intermittent air traffic noise and inconveniently long rides to any center or south Strip locations, and this venue can often take on the feel of Disneyland instead of Sin City. Which is fine if youve got kids in tow and dont want to stray too far from your home base just to cool off.Closest dayclub / pool party to Mandalay Bay:Moorea / Daylight

Does A Pool Add To My Home’s Value
How much value a pool adds is one of the most common questions. ;In some parts of the Country, a pool can take away from resale value. ;If your climate only allows 2-3 months to enjoy the pool, you should ask your local Realtor how it affects value. ;That isn’t the case in the Southwest. ;Our warm sunny days make it possible to use a pool more than in most other parts of the Country. ;From San Diego to Santa Barbara to Phoenix and Las Vegas, pool homes are in demand. ;
How much an appraiser will allow for a pool will vary from one home to the next, based on the size of the pool and the comps. ;You can expect to pay ;at least $10K more for a home with a working pool. ;This value would be for a modest, smaller home. ;In the mid-price range, add $30-$50K for a pool. ;
Real estate expert Bill Gassett lists swimming pools in his five;worst home improvements. ;We love our pools in Las Vegas. ;It is understandable that they won’t add value to a home where snow lingers until late Spring. ;Even in a hot climate, resale value alone isn’t a good reason to add a pool. ;If you won’t enjoy the pool, there are other projects that will give you a better return on your investment.
