Bronx And Queens Night Markets

So the parks commissioner and her team, we want to roll out and make sure that we can keep our beaches safe because we dont want to lose loved ones to drowning. That is something we dont want.

While Monday wasnt great weather for a trip to the pool, the sun returns Tuesday when pools open for the season. It will be mostly sunny with highs of 79 in the city. That sun will stick around through the end of the work week and temperatures will soar to around 90 by Friday.

Pools reopened on Saturday and will be available from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., seven days a week.
Officials are reminding people looking for a cool dip this summer that everyone will be required to wear a face mask to enter the pool facilities.
Face masks must be worn in locker rooms, bathrooms, and on the pool deck, but not in the water.
Additionally, social distancing is recommended as pool capacity will not be limited.
All outdoor pools will all have dispensers with free, broad-spectrum SPF 50 sunscreen.
The Parks Department says that the coronavirus pandemic has affected their ability to hire and train lifeguards and as a result, they are unable to hold summer 2021 swim programs at the outdoor pools.
Swimsuits are required to enter the pool area and men’s shorts must have a lining.
Also, if you’re going to wear clothing on the deck, shirts with colors on them are not allowed, white shirts and hats are recommended.
Parents are asked to leave the floaties at home and have anyone who is still learning how to swim to remain in the shallow end.
Swim diapers are allowed for babies or toddlers, and strollers are allowed but do note visitors are responsible for keeping an eye on their belongings.

Beaches will open on Memorial Day Weekend on Saturday, May 29, and outdoor pools across the city will open the day after the last day of school on Saturday, June 26. Openings will follow heath guidance on COVID and safety protocols.

School is out, and New York Citys public pools are once again open for business.
This year, swimmers can look forward to Cool Pools, a new pilot program launched by the citys Parks Department, which chooses one pool from each of the five boroughs to receive a colorful makeover.
The pools chosen for the pilot program are Douglas and DeGraw Pool in Gowanus, Fisher Pool in East Elmhurst, Mapes Pool in East Tremont, Sheltering Arms Pool in Harlem, and West Brighton Pool in Staten Island. Each one of the facilities hasnt seen a major renovation since they were built in the 1970s.
The citys 55 free public pools are open every day during the summer between 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. . Additionally, the citys Department of Parks has already announced that larger pools will remain open until Sunday, September 9, with mini pools closing on Labor Day.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — New York City is expected to experience above-average temperatures this hot summer. With pools and beaches opening up, Staten Islanders can cool off in many locations.
Here is what you need to know before you head out for a swim.
POOLS
All of the citys outdoor pools are open to the publicfor the summer season.
Outdoor pool hours are normally from 11 a.m to 7 p.m, with a break for pool cleaning between 3 and 4 p.m.
The public pools located on Staten Island are: Faber Pool in Port Richmond Lyons Pool in Tompkinsville General Douglas Pool in Dongan Hills PS 14 Playground Pool in Stapleton PS 46 Playground Pool in Grasmere Tottenville Pool, and West Brighton Pool.
As part of the Cool Pools NYC initiative, the Tottenville pool was upgraded in 2019 to a resort-style pool, including summer-themed wall art, lounge chairs and umbrellas on the deck, and palm trees by the pool.
Due to a current national lifeguard shortage, the city has had to cancel its free swim lessons at public pools this season, including lap swim, senior swim and Learn to Swim programs. Private swim lessons are currently packed with long waiting lists.
