It caps the northern end of seventeen-acre Glenlake Park and neighboring Decatur Cemetery, providing the area with the summer sounds of kid squeals and lifeguard whistles. The fifty-meter pool includes a roped-off, one-and-a-half-feet-deep kiddie area, a substantial shallow area for basking families, lap lanes, a quiet deep end , a picnic nook, lounge and deck chairs, and man-made shade. When Do Pools Open
We have been to Vegas last year and this year in June and obviously the pools were open, in fact a life saver!!
Next year we plan to go at the end of March for one night and the 17th and 18th April.
Will the pools be open??
It depends on the hotel. Some stay open all year. Some don’t open until May. Many are open in March and April.
Almost all of the hotels will have a pool open the end of March. The larger pool complexes will probably not have all their pools in use, Most notably MGM which doesn’t usually have their lazy river open that early. But Mandalay Bay and Monte Carlo usually do, if that matters in your choice of hotel.
Even if they have a pool open, its unlikely to really be “pool weather”. You could get lucky and get a warm sunny day. But more likely than not it will be on the cool side.
Unless a pool is closed for renovations or something, I’ve never heard of one opening as late as May. They will all be open in April. For late-march, you should expect just about every hotel’s pool area to be open. But if the pool area has multiple pools, some might be closed.
Late March is still iffy for pool weather. April 17th should be fine.
More specifically does anyone know if the Golden Nugget pool will be open around 28th March?
For a specific question like that, your best bet is to call the hotel and ask. What has been the case previously may not necessarily apply in 2013. But they may not have a definite answer until early next year.

Mountain Park Aquatic Center accommodates the Stone Mountain crowd. The setup at this pool and other Gwinnett aquatic centers is generally loungeable and not the place for serious swimmers .The SceneWeekends are sort of like a restaurant with a patio on a pretty day. Outdoor Pool In Mid April
Travelling to atlanta in April from uk and staying near airport. Can anyone recommend an outdoor pool that may be open, possibly in Downtown?
I know some hotels allow “day use” of their spa and pool for a small charge, please can anyone recommend one?
I don’t know if the pools are open and whether they allow day use, but the most scenic pool downtown is definitely at the W Hotel.
Is there a particular reason you’re staying near the airport? It’s really not a good area and there’s hardly anything to do down there.
Mid-April is too early. The pool at Piedmont Park doesn’t open up until the end of May –
If you go to the spa at the W or the Loews in Midtown, you may have access to their pools. The Sheraton downtown has an indoor pool. Why not stay at a hotel with a pool instead of the airport?
I agree there’s not much to do by the airport b/c that is where I live. However, hotels are cheaper there. There’s a nice Drury Inn and RedRoof Inn that’s fairly new right outside airport on 85 at Virginia Ave. From what I know they probably do not have an outdoor pool. Spondivits is a good spot to eat at by those hotels. I agree W downtown or Lowes have nice outdoor pools.
I am not sure it will be warm enough to swim outside in April, but I agree that you really don’t want to stay by the airport unless you are planning to just stay in the hotel.
