Why Do People Buy Hot Tubs

Hot Tub Chemistry- Bromine vs Chlorine

People often ask me Is it worth buying a hot tub?

My short answer Of course!

There is no reason to hold back from buying a hot tub, especially if you can afford it. Hot tubs make a real difference in your life by bringing in a sense of relaxation every time you take a dip as well as an infrared sauna. Lying down in the hot tub or Jacuzzi is more of a therapy than a luxury this simple ritual can save you from multiple trips to your doctor, spa visits, excessive medication, and physiotherapy. If you are still unsure, find a public jacuzzi or spa center in your city and give jacuzzis a try .

My detailed answer 10 Reasons Why You Definitely Should Buy a Hot Tub

The Benefits Of A Jetted Hot Tub

There are many benefits of jetting over a whirlpool.

  • One benefit is that jetted hot tubs have more jets than whirlpool tubs, which means the water pressure is greater and the massage is more intense.
  • Jetted also has a wider variety of jet options, so you can customize your massage to your specific needs.
  • Additionally, jetted tend to be larger than whirlpool tubs, so they can accommodate more people at once.
  • Finally, jetted hot tubs typically have more features than whirlpool tubs, such as built-in speakers and LED lights.
  • What Is A Whirlpool

A whirlpool is a large tub filled with hot water with jets to create a massage-like effect. Jacuzzis are a type of whirlpool. Simply described, it is a therapeutic bath in which all or a part of the body is subjected to strong hot water currents. It has many benefits and is often used for hydrotherapy or physical therapy.

To differentiate Jacuzzi and a whirlpool, we can look at the following points:

Introduction: What Is A Jetted Hot Tub

A jetted uses high-powered jets to circulate water and create a massage-like effect. Whirlpool hot tubs also use jets to circulate water, but they are not as powerful as those found in jetted tubs. The jets are located near the bottom of the tub and use air pressure to propel water through them.

Some jetted have more than one jet, while others have more than 50. A jetted hot tub is designed to create a soothing massage-like effect while you relax in the tub.

Jacuzzi Vs Hot Tub Vs Spa: Whats The Difference

    • 89

Luxury hotels often advertise their top-tier rooms as Jacuzzi® Suites. But when guests check in, they sometimes find a large, jetted bathtub that was not manufactured by Jacuzzi Inc. Hotel chains, as well as retailers and consumers, often incorrectly apply the term “JACUZZI” to all hot tubs, in-ground and above-ground spas included, as well as whirlpool baths.

Jacuzzi Inc. is actually a manufacturer made famous after first producing air-jetted whirlpool tubs in the 1960s. The use of the brand name to define all tubs of that sort is similar to how many people today say Kleenex® when referring to any brand of tissue or Jello® when referring to all brands of gelatin.

When thinking about JACUZZI vs. a hot tub or a spa, consider the brand factor, the origins of the terminology, and the performance usage profiles and wellness benefits of the many hot tubs available today.

Not Sure If Your Deck Can Support The Weight Of A Hot Tub

Luckily, I break it all down for you in a recent article. I give you the weights of all types and sizes of standard hot tubs, empty, with water and with people.

Then I map out exactly how to calculate the ability of your deck to support the weight, and I show you how to reinforce your deck if it needs it.

Just click that link to read it on my site.

As long as the surface is uniform, solid, level, and can support the weight of the hot tub then you are all set to go.

Now that the basics are out of the way, lets see what some of the differences between in-ground and above ground hot tubs are.

First, in-ground hot tubs tend to use more energy in their pumps, in contrast to the portable above ground hot tubs. This means that since energy is used less efficiently, your heating cost goes up with an in-ground hot tub.

In-ground hot tubs are less comfortable, due to their plastic benches built into the side. Above-ground hot tubs have more ergonomic and comfortable seating.

While you can get both in-ground and above ground hot tubs, its best to talk to the seller and determine the best fit for you.

Hot Tubs Vs Jacuzzis: Whats The Difference

The word hot tub is often used synonymously with the word Jacuzzi, but it turns out there are a few subtle but important differences between the two:

    • Hot tubs are large tubs of hot water that can be used to relax and entertain.
    • Jacuzzi is a trademarked brand of hot tubs and other products.

Here, well learn more about the differences between a hot tub and a Jacuzzi.

    So Whats The Long Answer

What is the difference between a Swimming Pool Pump and a Hot Tub Pump?

Jacuzzi is a brand that was established in the 1950s. Theyre still around, and they still make hot tubs. Theyre one of many who compete for your business. The Jacuzzi name became generic much like other brands because they were an early, popular brand in their market. Many other companies now innovate with their own technologies and evolve the hot tub product world.

Are Hot Tubs And Jacuzzis The Same

In short, hot tubs and Jacuzzis are not the same. Hot tubs can be manufactured by a variety of brands, and many sport the same high-quality components and advanced features as Jacuzzi products, often for a lower price. Jacuzzi may have been the first well known hot tub brand, but they may not offer the most affordable spas for sale on todays market.

For example, many hot tubs and Jacuzzis share the same amenities, such as:

What Is An Air Tub Is An Air Tub A Type Of Hot Tub

An air tub is a type of hot tub. But instead of pushing water through the jets to create the massaging effect like the Whirlpool, an air tub provides therapeutic massage with air.

The air creates more delicate,champagne-like bubbles that some people find more enjoyable than the forcefulness of water jets. Air tubs provide a gentle, all-over body rub as opposed to the targeted massage from water jets.

You can sometimes find a hot tub that combines air and water jets. These are usually called combo tubs. Jacuzzi makes a model they humorously call Aqualibrium.

    Disadvantages Of Hot Tubs

    Hot Tub vs Jacuzzi
  • Take a Long Time to Heat Up Hot tubs take a long time to heat up as the water kept in the tub gets heated slowly. These tubs often need to be covered by insulating covers to speed up heating. But once the tub is in use, the heat loss is also rapid.
  • Improper Cleaning Can Be Harmful Hot tubs need to be cleaned thorough and properly. If these are not cleaned properly, the chemical balance in the water of these hots tubs can get disturbed making them unsuitable for use. A tub that is not cleaned properly can lead to infection in users who sit in the contaminated water for a long period.
  • Not Ideal for People with Health Issues People with heart problems or those who face problems due to quick circulation of blood, should consult their physician before using a hot tub. High temperature can speed up the blood flow which can be a problem with people with certain type of health disorders.
  • No Water Jets Most inflatable hot tubs dont come with water jets, instead these blow air through the water to give a bubbling effect. This can be problematic as the air can lead to lowering the temperature of the water very quickly.
  • Regular Use Can Reduce Life of Hot Tubs Regularly inflating and deflating the hot tubs can reduce the life of the material of the hot tub. Also, if these are not stored away properly in a dark place with no moisture, it can lead to mold or fungus in the hot tub.

    What Is A Spa

The term spa describes water treatment, but this treatment can take many forms. Spa resorts are locations where mineral-rich spring water, like that from natural hot springs, is used for healing baths and other health treatments. Spa resorts are widely popular in todays world, but they are especially beloved in Asia and Europe.

Hot tubs, jetted tubs, and Jacuzzis can also be referred to as spas. In the U.S., people use this term for tubs with strong jets that provide a relaxing massage effect. Most of these so-called spas have molded seating and several jets all around to accommodate and massage multiple people at once.

Portable spas are installed above ground, but others can essentially sink into a deck or floor. Hotels and resorts may have in-ground spas for visitors. Spas are often built attached to an in-ground pool, often with a bench seat and a few jets on the inside.

Difference Between Hot Tub And Jacuzzi

September 20, 2018 Posted by Hasa

Hot tub is a small pool or large tub filled with hot aerated water, used for recreation or physical therapy whereas Jacuzzi is a brand name of hot tubs. This is a key difference between hot tub and jacuzzi.

Since Jacuzzi is a brand name for hot tubs, it is only a type of hot tubs. Thus, there is not much difference between hot tub and jacuzzi based on the concept. Therefore, the difference is mainly brand related.

Can Spas Jacuzzis Or Hot Tubs All Be Above Ground Or In

Whether calling them hot tubs, spas, or Jacuzzis, they can be both in-ground and above ground. You can also place a hot tub indoors or outdoors.

However, there are a few things you should know before making that decision.

For outdoor hot tubs, it is common to place hot tubs on surfaces such as decks and patios made out of both concrete or brick. In fact, hot tubs can be placed on any uniform, solid, level surface.

But the hot tub must be on a level surface. A dip in the surface your hot tub is on can cause the hot tub to crack.

Additionally, do not place your hot tub on grass. In general, it should never be placed on the bare ground at all. When placing your hot tub on a surface such as a wooden deck, you should be mindful of the weight of the hot tub and the amount of weight that the deck can hold.

Spa Vs Hot Tub Whats The Difference

Whirlpool Tub Vs Jacuzzi Tub Vs Jetted Bath tub with Difference Hot Tub

There are a lot of differences between a hottub and a spa, even though today, the terms are used interchangeably. A spa isideally a hot tub with a number of jets and seating facility and it is builtin-ground or above-ground, close to a traditional pool. Spas are larger thanhot tubs, and these have more seating capacity than hot tubs.

If you want to install an in-ground spa, youwill need to work on the installation of the hot tub by digging up andinstalling the water and electricity fixtures. An in-ground spa is usuallybuilt while a pool is getting constructed, but you can also get these designedand made on order. An above-ground spa is easier to install as you do not needto make space in the ground for it. You can place the spa in the location youprefer and hook it up to the water and electricity supply.

Hot tubs, on the other hand, can be made fromacrylic, fiberglass, or vinyl and these are available in portable as well asfixed designs. Setting up a hot tub does not take any specialized skills, andif you are buying an inflatable hot tub, then you can set it up by filling itwith water and plugging it in the regular electricity supply in your house. Forhot tubs that accept 220v power, you will need to get an electrician to wireyour homes electricity to be compatible with 220v wiring.

Are Jacuzzi Hot Tubs Better Than Other Hot Tubs

Jacuzzi hot tubs are better than many other brands of hot tubs. But they are not the best, as their D- rating with the Better Business Bureau attests. However, they still have many outstanding features that are worth considering.

Why do they have such a terrible rating?

Well, the BBB largely bases its score on how well the company responds to complaints. So, in theory, a company could get thousands of complaints, but if they respond to all of them in a timely manner, they could get an A+ rating.

Its also worth pointing out that the BBB isnt totally impartial.

Thats because they want the business to pay them a fee to become accredited. Now, do they favor accredited, i.e., paying clients, with better ratings? Im not saying that. But anytime money is changing hands, I think some credibility gets lost.

Anyway, with Jacuzzi, they have had 18 complaints over the past 3 years. BUT, 13 of them are from 2020.

Guess what went south in 2020?

You guessed it. Most manufacturers were shut down at least half the year and/or had trouble getting enough workers. Plus, demand for things we use at home went way up since many were working from home.

So being able to fulfill orders became a challenge for all manufacturers of just about everything. So I think its important to consider that in deciding whether Jacuzzi is a quality company or not.
