When you have a problem with a product you purchased from a company or order a service tech from a company to come to your home to provide a service for you, you expect that you will get things handled in a reasonable amount of time. Apparently Leslies Pool Supplies does not have a very good reputation for providing their customers with service of any kind, in a satisfactory amount of time. In reviewing customer reviews, its pretty apparent that this is a regular complaint of customers who have tried to get Leslies help with a variety of different problems they had and were not getting the help in a timely manner. This included product replacement, and service techs coming to their home to help them with a pool issue. Many customers complained about lengthy turnaround times, including one customer who complained about not being able to use his pool purchased from them and was given a month and a half wait time to get a tech to his house, which, according to the customer, meant that the summer would be over before he would be able to get help for his pool problem.

Pay is terrible at most levels. Management is entirely incompetent. No training for new products or procedures. Aging higher ups can hardly form complete sentences. Absolutely 0 effort put into streamlining operations. Calling corporate, ordering, or answering daily questions about time to ship.

Be wary of salt sold for animal feed and never use rock salt, as those varieties often contains impurities that make it unsuitable for pool use and that could damage the chlorine generator or leave debris on the pool floor. Also take into consideration your time needs. Some of these forms of salt are sold in pellets, some are course ground, and some are ground quite fine. Stuck at home because of the coronavirus pandemic, people who found themselves sitting on savings from canceled vacations and other cutbacks built pools in record numbers last year to make quarantine more enjoyable.
Then a fire at the end of last summer caused a shutdown at the plant that produces most of the countrys supply of chlorine tablets. This year, the arrival of Memorial Day and pool season has industry experts warning of a shortage that threatens to disrupt backyard plans from coast to coast.
There is a very, very good possibility that were going to run out of chlorine tablets, said Rudy Stankowitz, a swimming pool consultant and educator with more than 30 years of experience in the industry. People should start looking into alternative methods of sanitizing swimming pools.
The shortage, which Mr. Stankowitz described somewhat hyperbolically as a poolocalypse, will affect residential pools more than public ones, which typically use different forms of chlorine.
The chlorine shortage has caught some new pool owners like Stephanie Winslow off guard.
